Working with Collaborative Library Entries

The Libraries for our committee communities can be set up for Collaborative Editing.

How does this work?

  1. Make sure that you ask CTBUH staff to turn it on for your community
  2. Person A can upload a file to the community's library (make sure you follow best-practices and fill out the descriptions, etc.).
  3. Person B can download the file, make edits, save it, then upload the file to the same library folder with the same name.

Then in the future, when someone accesses the file in the library, they will see a window pop-up with sequential versions of the file and can access the most recent one.

Example of version control in a library entry

Examples of where this could be used

  • Developing presentations for a workshop
  • Editing a technical document for publication
  • Updating an event planning document or task list
